Great Jones Classic Old Fashioned

Place the sugar cube (or 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar) in an Old Fashioned glass. Wet it down with a short splash of water or club soda, and crush the sugar with a muddler. Rotate the glass so that the sugar grains give it a lining. Add a few large ice cubes, pour in the bourbon, and give it a few stirs with a bar spoon. Garnish with a large orange peel after expressing its oils over the glass.
